Equipment Policy


Please make sure you have read and understood these important policies before signing equipment out:

  • A-Rate and B-Rate Project Description forms must be submitted and approved before equipment is booked.
  • Payment must be made in full at the time of equipment pick-up.
  • 24 hour cancellation notice is required (one business day i.e. call Friday for cancellation of a Monday booking). Otherwise, you will be charged as follows: less than 24 hour cancellation notice: 50% charge of booking (equipment or editing booking).
  • Members must make sure that the equipment is in good working condition before taking it from the premises, as they are responsible for returning all equipment in working order.
  • Members will not service, repair or change the set-up of equipment without the approval of the Technical Director.
  • The member is responsible for the first $ 500 dollars for replacement costs in the event of loss or theft of the equipment, as per Ed Video's insurance policy. In case of damage to the said equipment the member is also responsible for the cost of repair, or replacement to the first $ 500.
  • Members must report any loss, damage or malfunctioning of equipment to Ed Video's technical staff immediately by filling out a fault report form.
  • The liability of ED Video is limited to the cancellation of the rental and revenue.
  • In the event of a late return of equipment the member will be charged at the same rental rate for every day late.
  • Ed Video accepts no liability for any injury or accident occurring while the facilities are used by members and/or non-members.
  • Only equipment listed as portable equipment is insured to go out of the building. Members must check with staff if they are in doubt.
  • Portable equipment is insured for Canada and continental United States. If you are planning production outside of this area you must contact the office and arrange for additional insurance coverage. Additional costs are the responsibility of the member.
