Ed Video Media Arts Centre in Guelph is having an open house for the Deaf and hard of hearing community in Southern Ontario featuring

  • Deaf films (also captioned in English)
  • Virtual Reality and Vibration vest technology
  • Snacks
  • Special Guests
  • ASL interpretation

Agenda

• Introduction to the centre: a charitable artist-run centre since 1976, Ed Video’s mission is to foster the creation, exhibition and appreciation of media arts. 

• Screening of Deaf films as selected by Catherine MacKinnon, director of the TORONTO INTERNATIONAL DEAF FILM & ARTS FESTIVAL (in attendance!)

• Test out Virtual Reality technologies and vibration subpacs (SubPac is a tactile audio system worn on the body to FEEL SOUND, designed and developed in Toronto)

• Snacks and socializing
