This 2 hour workshop instructed by Erin Faith Young, will delve into the concepts of creating, producing and distributing a documentary using "MUSIC FROM THE BIG HOUSE" as a case study.

There will be an overview of all the areas that are necessary to get your project off the ground; legal, financial, and creative. As well as reviewing the process and marketing tools prepared that are necessary to create a professional and successful documentary for a wide audience.

Cost includes ticket to the Bookshelf Cinema to watch "Music from the Big House" directed by Bruce McDonald, starring Rita Chiarelli and produced by Erin Faith Young.

About OSCAR NOMINEE, ERIN FAITH YOUNG:

Erin Faith Young is the Academy Award and Emmy nominated producer of the short documentary, HARDWOOD. She then co-founded, Caché Film & Television, the production company that along with her business partner Jennifer St.John, develops and produces thought provoking and entertaining film, television and new media productions.

Their slate of productions include: the multiple festival award winning dramatic feature film THE END OF SILENCE (Distributed by Mongrel Media), LAUGHOLOGY (CTV, Canal D; premiered at Hot Docs 2009), wrote, directed and co-produced the 1-hour documentary CROSSING ATITLAN (SCN, CIDA; Best documentary at Mexico International Film Festival), 4 PATHS TO PEACE (CTV) and recently wrote and produced MUSIC FROM THE BIG HOUSE (documentary channel & Bold; IDA’s Docuweeks Official Selection & Best Canadian Documentary at Edmonton Film Festival), directed by Bruce McDonald.

As a creative producer, Erin’s passion for creative collaboration has led her to writing and developing a new slate of projects as well as teaching for the past five years at Ryerson’s School of Chang (Excellence in Teaching award).
