The Screenwriting Competition is a friendly event initiated by Ed Video to celebrate the art of screenwriting, and to encourage the creation and completion of new scripts that will one day be developed into a film.

Writers of all experience levels, will be tasked with completing a short script over the course of a weekend. We're changing the format dramatically this year. Instead of challenging participants to base a script on a series of seemingly random criteria, writers will have the option of starting a script from scratch or taking the weekend to complete a script they have already had in development.
The important thing is to complete a script by the end of the weekend and submit it to be shared at the public presentation.

The completed scripts will be read aloud* in front of an audience, and juried for prizes and production package awards from Ed Video, which the winners can use to make their script (or another project) come to life.
*In the event that we have more than ten entries, the jury will select the ten scripts most suitable for the reading event. Scripts not selected for the reading will still be considered by the jury for prizes.
