Manfrotto 701 (two available for rent)
The Manfrotto 701 Tripod is perfect for lighter cameras such as the Canon 60D, Canon XH A1, and handicams. It is also ideal for camera operators who want to travel light or are concerned about navigating crowds.
Sturdy but light, the 701 is a fluid head tripod which is suited for a wide variety of shooting situations.

E-Image 7060
The E-Image 7060 is heavier and clumsier than smaller tripods like the 701, but that weight, coupled with it's design and spreader system, offer more stability. This stability and higher payload (the weight that the tripod can support) make it the smarter choice when using cameras which weigh more than 5 lbs, or in situations with wind or safety hazards.

Manfrotto 136
This is a well-used tripod, but it soldiers on. It has a heftier payload and more stability than the 701 tripod, but lacks the spreader or level of stability offered by the E-Image 7060.

Manfrotto 117
This tripod is mostly used as the base for the DV Crane II, but a camera can be directly mounted onto it. What this tripod lacks is a head, which means it can't pan or tilt. This tripod, which is designed to work with a heavy 40 lbs payload, is super stable and could really only be used for a locked-off shot.

Manfrotto Fig Rig
The Fig Rig is named for its designer, Director Mike Figgis (Leaving Las Vegas). This unit stabilizes your shots by altering the way your arms carry the weight of the camera. The Fig Rig certainly has the potential to make your shots significantly smoother, but the results are still largely up to the operator.
On one hand, this isn't a steadicam. Achieving that high level of smooth motion will be tough with the Fig Rig.
On the other hand, this isn't a steadicam. It's very light, and doesn't require weights, arm systems, or belts. It's about the size of a steering wheel, and it only takes about 1 minute to set up. Pair it with the Manfrotto 701 for fast -paced shoots.
