Editing Suite, Mobile Learning Lab, and Member Use Computers
Members may access computers and software at Ed Video in a number of different ways, depending on their needs. All computer use must be booked in advance with Technical Director Elia Morrison by emailing elia@edvideo.org

Editing Suite:

Ed Video's editing suite features a top of the line computer in a private space tailored to working comfortably and efficiently. 

The computer is powered by:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 3950x CPU
  • Nvidia RTX3090 GPU with 24gb of VRAM
  • 64GB of RAM
  • 2x 1TB NVME SSDs for applications and temporary storage
  • USB 3.2 and USB-C connectivity
  • 2x Colour Calibrated 4k HDR Monitors
  • High quality powered speakers

Available software includes the full Adobe Suite*, Davinci Resolve, FilmConvert Blender, and specialized software may be available at request.

Mobile Learning Lab:

For use in workshops, remote learning, and production programs, as well as available for medium term member use, Ed Video has a library of ten laptops loaded with the full Adobe Suite*. These laptops feature Intel i7 processors, 16GB of RAM, and Nvidia RTX1650ti GPUs. Included with each laptop is a Wacom Intuos drawing tablet for use in drawing and animation software.

Member Use Computers:

Our member use computers are two iMacs for light video and graphics projects. Available software includes Apple Final Cut Pro X, Motion, Compressor, Davinci Resolve, and the Adobe Suite*.

iMac A Specs:

  • M1 Processor
  • 16GB RAM
  • 24" Screen

Use with our BlackMagic Ultrastudio to capture and digitize from external video devices (VHS, Hi8 cameras, etc.)

iMac B Specs:

  • 2.3 GHz Intel i5
  • 24GB RAM
  • 27" 5K Screen

All projects should be stored on your own external hard drives. Short term storage on our computers may be possible, but files should be backed up as all computers and hard drives are regularly formatted. If you need advice or assistance to find apropriate storage and transfer your files please ask a member of our staff.

*Use of the Adobe Suite requires members to log in with a free Adobe account, available by signing up at http://www.adobe.com 
A three month probation period will apply to all new members. During this period, new members may only access our computers during regular business hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
After the three month probation period has ended, members may request 24/7 access to the lab.
 

Computer Use Fee Schedule (prices do not include taxes)
Arts Project rate use of Editing Suite and Member Use Computers is included in membership.
General rate use of the Editing Suite is $55 per day.
Mobile Learning Lab Laptops may be available for Arts Project rate use for $5 per day.

Members may apply for our Production Grants to receive no-cost access to our Editing Suite or Mobile Learning Lab Laptops.
