This workshop will provide an overview of the tools and practices of video production. Equipment such as cameras, tripods, microphones and lights will be demonstrated and discussed, as will common production practices.
The session will also discuss resources for production such as finding talent, release forms, permitting needs and common general ethics.
Participants will be given an opportunity to practice basic setup of a camera kit and microphone, and to apply some of the skills learned in the class.
This session is perfect for anyone who is interested in getting into independent video or film making but feels intimidated by the process. You won't be an expert by the end of the workshop, but you will have a strong understanding of how to get started in production, what kinds of tools are used, and the skills you should start developing.
There are no prerequisites for this session.
